Welcome to the Chemical Engineering Department

The Department of Chemical Engineering was established on the 15th of March 1983, concurrent with the establishment of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering Faculty. At the early stage this department only offered diploma and bachelor degree program. A postgraduate program ( Master and PhD ) was offered five years later in 1988. We are now the largest Chemical Engineering Department in Malaysia in terms of staff appointment and undergraduate as well as postgraduate students enrolment. The department also enjoys a strong support from more than 150 local and international companies through active and continuous collaboration in education, research, consultancy and training.
